On the occasion of the “Identità italiana tra Europa e società multiculturale” meeting, Ipsos presented a survey conducted in cooperation with Fondazione Intercultura, which investigated the image of Italy as presented by international newspapers and magazines.
Ten cuntries were selected to represent different social and cultural realities: France, UK, Spain and Germany for Europe, India, Russia and Argentina for developing countries, Japan, USA and Australia for developed non-European countries.
Abstract: Italy is generally viewed in a positive light, expecially in articles about culture, sports and artistic patrimony. On the other hand, when talking about the whole country, negatives are predominant. How to extend the positive outlook to the whole country might be a challenge for the future.
